Frankenslide

Tomorrow is the much anticipated Frankenslide at CFRC. Lots of drift action to come, with pictures and videos flooding the site for the next week, along with a lot of updates with a site I've joined up with, Sunday Slide. This is a great opportunity to mix my love for photography, my fascination with videography, and a little business together in one cool new space. So stay tuned for updates soon!

James Hardee - 280Z

On this past Friday, I had the opportunity to go to Orlando to shoot a few cars and get to know a few of the guys from Orlando's drift scene a little better. Marco's Genesis green S13 was the star of the night, but there was another car that captured my interest even more than this drift machine. James Hardee, a 25 year old sales manager for Michaels Autos, also came out to the shoot, but not in a 240sx like he's had in the past, but in his newest addition to his car collection, a 1978 Datsun 280z.

Stickers are cool? So buy one!

First Model Shoot

So to begin my photo coverage from the first little mini shoot I did in Orlando, I'd display the pics I took that included the lovely model posing with Marco's coupe. Considering it was her first shoot with a car I believe, I was really impressed and she gave the camera some big smiles as I snapped away. Definitely a big learning experience for me and next shoot will be so much better. Boy was it a struggle to get the right lighting on the subject with only the lights of the city to help us out... Thanks to Marco, Steve's headlights lighting up our shoots [lol], and company for all the fun and a great night.

My first photo shoot went pretty well, still getting used to shooting in the dark, but I think they came out well. Once I have permission, I'll upload the model ones I took as well : )

New Events Page

If you live in any region of Florida, events can be hard to find, especially when looking for small events that are cheap and fun to run. So to help everyone out, including myself, to stay up to date on the newest events coming out, I added a page that contains events coming up that I know about and that others tell me about. Feel free to comment on the page to let me know of more events coming up and I'll add them for you. Party of Five

Before showing some of my shots from my field trip with the Panther Photography club, I thought I'd introduce the members joining me from the trip. First off is our fearless leader Doug Carroll. He drove us around in his stylish convertible as we traveled around a few parks and dirt roads in Indian County, FL. Thanks for the ride sir.

Here is a shot by me of a student in the Panther Photography Club, Jigar Brambhatt, out taking pictures while we are out on our first trip of the year.

Micheal Suen is another member of the Club as well, toting around a lens I'd like to have, the 70-200mm 2.8 Canon L lens, would definitely up the quality of my final pictures.

Last but not least is Jose Gutierrez, who also came along to shoot pics as a member of the Club.

Trip down the Strip

The pics here are Part 2 of my coverage of a small drag night out at Orlando Speed World Dragway off of E Coconut Blvd. Had a great time shooting some cars and meeting new people, along with hanging with Marco and the FAM throughout the night. Funny to see a few drift cars head down the quarter mile though. Enjoy the pics.

Bikes of OSW DragStrip

While I normally shoot drift events instead of drag racing and other types of motorsports, I decided to head out to Orlando Speed World Dragway with Marco and the FAM to have a night of fun and photos. This gave me the opportunity to practice in low light since I wasn't happy with how my PBIR coverage came out before, but I think I am finally getting the hang of it. To start off my coverage of the racing event, here are some of the bikes that came out to race.

Downtown Orlando

My bud Steve and I had some time to kill before last weeks Sonic car meet, so we took the opportunity to take some shots downtown in Orlando. Whats intriguing about downtown is the variety in shots, from parks to big city buildings, the photo opportunities are endless. So here are a few of my favorites from the series, enjoy.

Wednesday Night Meet

The Fam is the name of the group of guys who come out to Sonic on Wednesdays to talk cars and show whats new in their projects. It was great having a chance to meet some guys in Florida who love their cars as much as I do. The atmosphere is fun and relaxing, even for a new guy to the mix like me. Marco explains to me the beginnings of the Fam and how it has grown into a big group of guys showing off what they love most.

Attempt at Bokeh

Never done Bokeh shots before, thought I'd try it out at Sonic... Bokeh is described at what happens behind the point of focus according to Ken Rockwell, in case anyone was uncertain at what Bokeh is... The big blurs in the background give the pics a surreal look, creating an interesting, artistic look to ordinary photos.

BeachVenture Part 1 - Generations

When a guy thinks of the beach, he thinks of surf and girls. When a girl goes to the beach, she thinks of tans and relaxation. But rarely do we take the opportunity to sit back and observe the different generations people who venture out the the beach.

What I Drive

My car is nothing crazy, nothing out of the ordinary, but she is one of my favorite parts of life. My Subaru Outback Sport is fun to drive and traveled from the southern reaches of Florida to the mountains of North Carolina. Hopefully when money allows I can take her across the States with my new camera in tow, documenting my travels with some close friends. For now though, she takes me to food and fun in Melbourne while I work on my Mechanical Engineering degree. Hope you guys like her.
