To follow yesterday's post, here are some more pictures of my trip downtown. These aren't throwbacks like the others, but tried to make the best of the gorgeous orange sunset reflecting off my Subaru. Enjoy everyone!
Sorry for the lame quality, don't have the money to upgrade to Flickr or Smugmug yet, BUT I really like how this set came out, especially the string lights, I'd do anything to be able to hang them in my room... Enjoy this trip back in time through downtown Melbourne.
A few people were wondering how I was able to get right on the track to take pics, along with some other media people, well here is the fancy wristband to get more access...
I really like the look of this white S14 out there on Friday, keep up the great drifting everyone, all you guys were doing great out there, except the ones aiming for the wall lol.
First Shot from Flickr, debating if I wanna keep posting from there...
To finish up my coverage of PBIR, here are a few shots of the media guys who were out shooting with me through the night, along with some final shots of Dan Chilton's, Jeremy Lowe's, and Pat Goodin's drift machines cooling off for the night. All in all PBIR was a really exciting event, giving me the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of my new camera along with getting me up close to the action to take some really great shots of everyone out having a good time. Thank you PBIR for a great opportunity and fun event.
Here are the drift pics from PBIR, took me a while to fix some of the noise but overall not bad for my first try at night... Next time I'll make sure to have noise reduction turned on my camera : / I know i have a lot of pics of certain cars, obviously bright white colors were easier to photograph, but next event I should get a lot better... let me know what i can to do improve and if you like the pics. Part 3 is next to come showing off the media guys and the end of the night as everyone packed up. -enjoy-
To kick off my coverage of PBIR's latest drifting event hosted by Ter-Tech, here are some shots from my walk through the parking lot prior to all the drift action. Not only is this my first visit to a Ter-Tech event, but also is the first time I will be using my new camera, the Canon Rebel T1i. What an exciting weekend for me, hopefully you guys get excited too with a look through my pictures.
To continue my coverage of CFRC's Practice Day, here are a few shots of Jason's bright yellow S13. I wish I could've seen this beast out on the track longer, but after his second run the diff broke, leaving him by the sidelines for the rest of the day. I didn't get a chance to talk with Jason at the event, but after reading a few articles on him, I can see he is rising from grassroots to the professional level quickly! Enjoy!
To kick off my coverage of CFRC's practice day, here is a short spotlight on a young guy learning the ropes of drifting. Marco Tellez shows a lot of promise in drifting and performed really well out on the skidpad today. I haven't known him long but I can tell he's a really cool guy and his driving is getting a lot better than the last time i saw him out. Enjoy!
Here are a few shots with my little camera practicing some night shots. Some turned out really cool and some didn't work out quite so well, but here are a few that came out pretty good.
Nice little pub in Melbourne, had a rustic feel i tried to capture.
Keeping with the retro theme, this diner stood down a quiet side street.
This 240sx belongs to my good friend Michael Hunter. But these pictures show much more than a car, but a beginning for my love for photography. Before my trip to Kansas to visit Mike, I hadn't taken a lot of pictures and certainly didn't understand a lot about cameras, but throughout my trip, I started to really enjoy taking pics of his car every where we went.
When using a cheaper camera, a lot of colors get left out when viewing the final product. Thankfully Adobe Lightroom has easy to use controls to bring out colors and makes images clearer than before. Whether your adding blues to make the sky more vibrant or highlighting the reds of an S14, Lightroom does a great job of fixing these details.
